Wherever you reside on earth you can see the moon; it is consistent. I always felt reassured by this. I moved around a lot in my teenage years but finally settled down after graduating high school. I wanted to continue my education and achieved that goal when I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan – with a B.Sc in Computer Science, and a minor in Math (but who’s counting). I now work as a Software Engineer, and read and write in my spare time.
I don’t discern between words and code. Simply, I write things. Expression is fundamental – but not only do words express thoughts: code makes the world go around. I like to explore ideas through my words and my code. The logic is satisfying. That’s what this blog is; it is me – an exploration into my ideas and to share what I see and feel on the inside, with the outside world.
This blog is a growing collection of things I’ve created. I wanted somewhere I could be proud of hosting my creative side. I plan to use it not only as a platform to share things, but also somewhere where there is an objective audience who will listen to what I have to say.
I’ve been programming in one form or another for 15 years. I started in high school. I found telling a computer what to do satisfying. I always wanted to work with computers from a very young age. It wasn’t till I took my first Computer Science class in university that I decided that this is what I wanted to do for a living. I changed majors and haven’t questioned that decision since.
I love Science Fiction. This is evident in my choice of books, movies, and TV shows. I have drawn inspiration for my work from many forms of media. I’ve been an aspiring novelist since I laid my eyes on a word processor. I have written some short fiction, although none of which I’ve polished enough to publish in any form. Sharing ideas, exploring humanity, and postulating the future of life as we know it has always been a passion of mine. I’m a dreamer, and this shows in much of my work.
I hope to open a dialogue with anyone who wants to get to know me. So please, look around and let me know what you think.
