Carnal Murder

A life for a life, no more than this spite
Integrity crumbled; drowned deep in this plight
For one mans murder, many would chase
When conspiracy blazed and carnage released

Hamlet and Laertes; gripped for their name
Lost in revenge; the war of their slain
Who would remember the world they create
When conspiracy showed its despised true fate

A vendetta so grave, blinding their sight
Cunning destruction, threatened the light
When death was so great; their alliance restored
Upon on Claudius’ soul, lay all this remorse

Their lives offset on that fine blunted tip
Hung by deceit; on a road so mislead
But within that cup was a lust to be slain
Destroying what murder didst fight to regain
